First fish of the new year

NORTHERN OHIO STREAMS -  January proved to be a difficult month to make it out fishing.  This was especially tough to stomach as the weather was as mild as I can remember.  Thankfully, the weather trends continued into February and I found myself fishing in just a hat and hoodie.  It felt like April, and it would have been a nice day to be out whether the fish were cooperating or not.  Luckily, I was able to have a bit of success landing a fresh chrome Steelhead a few hours into the outing.  As you can see from the photo, not a terribly big fish, but very spirited during the fight.  Although the fish was fresh and a real nice size for table fare, it was released.  I also caught a medium sized Common Carp, that of course was released as well.  All in all, a great day to be out and catching fish!

HURON, OHIO - Thanks for all the patience as I have been rebuilding the site.  I inadvertantly deleted all content this past December.  I knew I wanted to do a simple 'reface' but had no idea I would be starting from the ground up all over again.  Words can't express the frustration I have for losing nearly 10 years of content.  Anyways, I hope everyone likes the new layout and finds the site easy to navigate.  As always, feedback/comments send to: adam@coolwaterfish.com

Recently, a longstanding fixture of the Huron, Ohio, landscape was brought to its end.  The implosion of the ConAgra site was too big of a local event to miss, so I not only went to watch - but also shot footage.
